About Karim Sarhane

Over the course of a medical career that has spanned roughly a quarter century, Burjeel Royal Hospital surgeon Karim Sarhane, MD, has treated a variety of patients as a general, laparoscopic, and peripheral nerve surgeon. He has also completed postgraduate certificate programs in epidemiology, nerve regeneration, and reconstructive transplantation at the Johns Hopkins University. After completing medical school at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, Dr. Karim Sarhane remained with the school to earn a graduate degree in biochemistry and molecular genetics with a master’s thesis on CLN3 protein as a novel breast cancer biomarker. Since 2012, Karim Sarhane, MD, has contributed to over 100 scholarly papers and approximately 30 national presentations in major scientific meetings. He has also co-authored 11 book chapters on subjects that range from robotic and general surgery, to plastic and reconstructive surgery, to peripheral nerve regeneration. Dr. Sarhane holds a Clinical Trials Certificate from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. He also regularly shares clinical insights with his contemporaries in various multi-disciplinary oncology conferences.
